Robert Gourley is an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker dedicated to crafting captivating narratives that foster empathy and forge connections. He specializes in vérite documentary filmmaking with a penchant for intimate storytelling with small crews.

Robert's visual storytelling career began at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead-Cain Scholar and garnered national acclaim from College Photographer of the Year and the Hearst Journalism Awards.

After working as a staff video journalist at the Los Angeles Times, Robert embarked on a freelance career in 2021, contributing to television and film projects spanning the globe. He has worked in eight countries: from navigating the confines of a nuclear reactor containment vessel at Fukushima Daiichi to interviewing cultural icons and editing issue-focused films for the ACLU.
